After a long waiting period, Brussels Airlines is very happy to inform that the European Commission has given Lufthansa the green light to step into the capital of Brussels Airlines. This approval by the European Competition Authority enables Lufthansa to take a stake of 45% in SN Airholding. Lufthansa has the option of acquiring the remaining 55% as from now 2011 onwards after traffic rights have been assigned. Thanks to this partnership with Lufthansa and also with Star Alliance, Brussels Airlines becomes a 'global network carrier', offering our customers easy access to the world. The wide array of flights offered by Star Alliance partners to and from Brussels Airport will also improve. This is excellent news for conference organizers applying for the Star Alliance Official Carrier Programme.
